Regular Season Round 22: Picken Claret - Plenilunio 62-60

A very close game took place in Valencia between Picken Claret and Plenilunio. Ninth ranked Picken Claret (11-11) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Plenilunio (12-10). Picken Claret managed to escape with a 2-point win 62-60 on Saturday evening. Plenilunio trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 60-62 at the end of the game. Picken Claret dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Plenilunio's 16. Maria Gonzalez scored 22 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Patricia Soler (186-94, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Maria Ruiz-Canela responded with 19 points and Andrea Aguilera scored 11 points. Picken Claret moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with IF Air Europa. Loser Plenilunio keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Estudiantes. Picken Claret will meet higher ranked Leganes (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Plenilunio will play against Almeria and hope to secure a win.
