Regular Season Round 23: Peja - Bashkimi 95-91

An exciting game was played in Peje. First ranked Peja faced 3rd placed Bashkimi. Host Peja (19-1) defeated guests from Prizren (13-6) 95-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bashkimi. They outrebounded Bashkimi 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Peja looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Kevin Burwell (179-89, college: Miss.Valley St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists. The former international forward Alban Veseli (202-90) helped adding 19 points and 14 rebounds. Burwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Peja. They maintain first place with 19-1 record. Loser Bashkimi keeps the third position with six games lost. Peja will meet bottom-ranked Kerasan (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bashkimi will have a break next round.
