Regular Season Round 26: SAP Vaucluse - CFBB 90-65

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-27) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-65 loss to thirteenth ranked SAP Vaucluse (12-14) in Sorgues on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 20-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-65. SAP Vaucluse dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 22 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded CFBB 32-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Guard Damir Karaibrahimovic (188-89) chipped in 21 points. Four SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. Center Thimotee Bazille (201-99) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and guard Sofiane Briki (190-99) added 14 points respectively for the guests. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser CFBB still closes the standings. SAP Vaucluse will face Mulhouse Basket (#10) on the road in the next round. CFBB will play against JSA Bordeaux (#16) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
