Regular Season Round 22: Clinicas Rincon - Sammic ISB 73-83

Very predictable result in Malaga where fourth ranked Sammic ISB (15-7) beat 9th ranked Clinicas Rincon (8-13) 83-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-73. Sammic ISB outrebounded Clinicas Rincon 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) had a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Congolese forward Judicael Belemene (205-97) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Brazilian guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) scored 12 points. Four Clinicas Rincon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sammic ISB moved-up to second place, which they share with Araberri. Loser Clinicas Rincon keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Valladolid. Sammic ISB will meet at home Araberri (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Clinicas Rincon will play against Zornotza (#11) in Amorebieta-Echano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
