Regular Season Round 23: Avenida - Zamarat 83-75

LFB top team - Perfumerias Avenida (22-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Zamarat (10-13) in Salamanca 83-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zamarat. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 21-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Perfumerias Avenida forced 19 Zamarat turnovers. It was a quality performance for Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Greek-American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Bosnian center Dragana Svitlica (190-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Andrea Riley (165-88, college: Oklahoma St., agency: LBM Management) added 19 points respectively for Zamarat in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of twenty two victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-1 record. Zamarat at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Ferrol. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Universitario de Ferrol (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zamarat will play against CREF Hola and hopes to get back on the winning track.
