We should mention about the upset which took place in Vigo, where higher ranked C.Adelantados (14-8) lost to ninth ranked Real Celta Vigo (10-12) in a road game 55-61. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of C.Adelantados. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 14-4. But C.Adelantados won third quarter 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Celta Vigo dominated on the defensive end, holding C.Adelantados to just 4 points in first quarter and to 13 points in first half. Real Celta Vigo forced 20 C.Adelantados turnovers. Guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Angela Coello (185-97) supported her with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American guard Tyonna Outland (173-92, college: CSU Bakersfield) did not help to save the game for C.Adelantados. Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) added 11 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Real Celta Vigo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position in Group A with 10-12 record. C.Adelantados at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Real Celta Vigo's next round opponent will be higher ranked Arxil Pontevedra (#8) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. C.Adelantados will play against Maquinaria Ensino (#7) and hope to win that game.
