There was no surprise in Lugo where 13th ranked Aragon (4-18) was defeated by seventh ranked Maquinaria Ensino (11-11) 81-69 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. Maquinaria Ensino forced 19 Aragon turnovers. Forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Tamara Montero (168-94) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. Forward Beatriz Bollullo (181-93) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Patricia Alonso (-81) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Maquinaria Ensino maintains seventh position in Group A with 11-11 record, which they share with Arxil Pontev. Aragon lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face higher ranked C.Adelantados (#5) in San Cristobal in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aragon will play at home against Adareva (#4) and hope to win that game.
