Very predictable result in Aviles where second ranked GDKO Bizkaia (18-4) beat 14th ranked ADBA (1-21) 86-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-71. GDKO Bizkaia made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 ADBA turnovers. Strangely ADBA outrebounded GDKO Bizkaia 30-16. American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) fired 21 points for the winners. Naturalized Paraguayan guard Claudia Aponte (175-91, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 23 points. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five GDKO Bizkaia players scored in double figures. GDKO Bizkaia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Andrea Malanda (164-90) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian forward Davorka Balic (188-88) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. GDKO Bizkaia maintains second position in Group A with 18-4 record having just two points less than leader Alcobendas. ADBA lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Badajoz BF (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
