Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Lavrio (8-14) beat at home 13th ranked Arkadikos (5-17) 79-67 on Saturday. Lavrio shot 29 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Arkadikos only scored eleven points from the stripe. Arkadikos was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (201-88, college: Georgia St.) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 13 points. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 11 points and 8 assists and Finnish forward Matti Nuutinen (200-90, agency: Blacktop Management) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Arkadikos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lavrio moved-up to tenth place. Arkadikos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Lavrio will face higher ranked PAOK (#6) in Thessaloniki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arkadikos will play at home against Aiolos Trikallon (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
