Regular Season Round 19: Montbrison - CFBB 70-49

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Montbrison (5-14) smashed at home bottom-ranked CFBB (1-18) 70-49. The game was mostly controlled by Montbrison. CFBB was better in second period 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montbrison dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Cameroonian Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Romanian forward Anca Sipos (185-85) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Alexia Chartereau (189-98) answered with 6 points and 10 rebounds and forward Emmanuelle Tahane (180-99) added 8 points in the effort for CFBB. CFBB's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Montbrison maintains tenth place with 5-14 record, which they share with Charnay. CFBB lost their thirteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Montbrison's next round opponent will be higher ranked Dunkerque (#9) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against SIG in llkirch-Graff. and hope to win that game.
