No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Unicaja Malaga (11-12) defeated at home 14th ranked CAI Zaragoza (7-16) 77-69 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CAI Zaragoza won fourth quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded CAI Zaragoza 34-17 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Daniel Diez (203-93) who scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86) chipped in 13 points. Ukrainian center Viacheslav Kravtsov (211-87, agency: Beo Basket) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and German forward Robin Benzing (208-89) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UCAM Murcia and Dominion BB. Loser CAI Zaragoza keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face higher ranked Laboral Kutxa (#4) in Vitoria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CAI Zaragoza will play at home against Blusens Monbus (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
