Regular Season Round 22: Lucentum - Getafe 75-70

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Getafe (3-19) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Meridiano Alicante (12-10) 75-70 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-70. Point guard Javier Hernandez (182-92) scored 11 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Aramburu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Nigerian-American guard Amos Olatayo (193-91, college: La-Monroe, agency: Duran International) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Antoni Vicens (203-90) scored 20 points. Four Getafe players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Meridiano Alicante moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tarragona and Moron. Loser Getafe stay dead last with 19 lost games. Meridiano Alicante will meet Cambados (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Getafe will play against CB Tarragona 2017 and hope to secure a win.
