Regular Season Round 22: Viareggio - Ancona 61-47

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Viareggio (9-13) defeated at home 14th ranked Ancona (3-19) 61-47 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Viareggio. Ancona was better in second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for guard Federica Iannucci (175-93) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 rebounds. Center Elena Bindelli (180-90) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Kristina Ostojic (172-95) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Carola Sordi (181-82) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ancona. Viareggio have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Civitanova and Irpino. Ancona lost eighth consecutive game. Ancona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Viareggio will face Irpino (#11) in Ariano Irpino in the next round. Ancona will play at home against Empoli and hope to win that game.
