Regular Season Round 23: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel Holon 81-67

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Hapoel Holon (8-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Maccabi Haifa (14-9) 81-67 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (180-86, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Danish guard Chanan Colman (191-84, college: Chipola JC) helped adding 13 points. Five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian power forward Ivan Radenovic (209-84, college: Arizona) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Haifa maintains third place with 14-9 record having just three points less than leader Hapoel J-M. Loser Hapoel Holon keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Maccabi Haifa will meet Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Holon will play against Bnei Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
