Regular Season Round 28: Brasilia - Paulistano 81-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Brasilia and 5th ranked Paulistano had identical 17-8 record. This time Brasilia used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Sao Paolo 81-69 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Brasilia. Paulistano was better in second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brasilia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Paulistano's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (188-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists and international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international Jhonatan Luz dos Santos (196-87) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Brasilia have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion (18-8) moved-up to third place. Loser Paulistano dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Brasilia will face Rio Claro (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Paulistano will play against Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
