Very expected game in San Sebastian where 18th ranked Gipuzkoa (4-19) was defeated by twelfth ranked CB Canarias (10-13) 80-71 on Sunday. Gipuzkoa trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. Gipuzkoa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds.
