Second Stage Round 6: Heffingen - Bascharage 63-89

An interesting game for Bascharage (19-6) which played road game in Heffingen against one of their biggest challengers Heffingen (7-18). Second ranked Bascharage had an easy win 89-63. The game was mostly controlled by Bascharage. Heffingen managed to win third quarter 18-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bascharage looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated also this game. Point guard Marcus Neal (196-86, college: Delaware St.) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) supported him with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Bascharage players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) did not help to save the game for Heffingen. Forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) added 17 points and 12 rebounds. Heffingen's coach Mark Reed gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Bascharage maintains second position with 19-6 record having just nine point less than leader Arantia. Heffingen lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 18 games lost. Bascharage will meet at home BC Mess (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Heffingen will play against the league's second-placed Contern and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
