Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Bolzano (5-17) was outscored at home by eighth ranked Marghera (10-12) 79-47 on Sunday. The game without a history. Marghera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bolzano to just 6 points in third quarter. Marghera forced 22 Bolzano turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Erika Striulli (170-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. Forward Carla Fabris (185-86) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Marghera players scored in double figures. Guard Elena Zambarda (180-87) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alexa Pobitzer (178-98) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Marghera moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bolzano lost fifth consecutive game. Bolzano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Marghera will face higher ranked Vicenza (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bolzano will play against the league's second-placed Team Crema (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
