Regular Season Round 22: Ferrara - Bologna 58-52

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Bologna (13-9) lost on the road to second ranked Ferrara (19-3) 58-52 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bologna won fourth quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferrara dominated on the defensive end, holding Bologna to just 6 points in third quarter. It was a very good performance for power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 6 points and 14 rebounds. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Point guard Elisabetta Tassinari (175-94) replied with 14 points and forward Lucia Morsiani (185-92) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Bologna. Bologna's coach Matteo Lolli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ferrara maintains second position with 19-3 record having five points less than leader La Spezia. Newly promoted Bologna keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Ferrara will face Brindisi (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bologna will play against Palermo (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
