Regular Season Round 33: Bucaneros - Guaros 72-90

An interesting game for Guaros (13-9) which played road game in La Guaira against second-best Bucaneros (18-10). Second ranked Guaros had an easy win 90-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bucaneros. The game was mostly controlled by Guaros. Bucaneros was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Bucaneros outrebounded Guaros 42-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bucaneros' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the former international power forward Hector Romero (202-80, college: New Orleans) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guaros maintains second place with 13-9 record having seven points less than leader Marinos which they share with defeated Bucaneros. Bucaneros at the other side keep the second position with ten games lost. Guaros will have a break next round. Bucaneros will play again at home against the league's second-placed Guaros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
