Date: March 15, 2016
Rather expected game when 9th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (10-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Poitiers (12-10) 92-80 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Charleville-Mezieres was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Poitiers players scored in double figures. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American swingman Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Seraphin Saumont (199-94) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Poitiers maintains seventh position with 12-10 record. Loser Charleville-Mezieres keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Poitiers will face league's leader Hyeres-Toulon on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Charleville-Mezieres will play against ALM Evreux (#3) and hope to win that game.
