Regular Season Round 49: Union SF - Barrio Parque 73-75

A very close game took place in Santa Fe between Barrio Parque and Union SF. Fourth ranked Barrio Parque (18-15) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked Union SF (20-15). Barrio Parque managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Union SF. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. Barrio Parque dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Union SF's 28. Forward Nicolas Lauria (202-88) fired 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Fernando Titarelli (183-82) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Barrio Parque's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized Italian Juan Kelly (190-88) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Jonathan Durley (203-88, college: Wichita St.) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Barrio Parque moved-up to second place, which they share with Rocamora. Loser Union SF keeps the second position with 15 games lost. Barrio Parque will meet Echague (#5) in the next round. Union SF will have a break next round.
