Regular Season Round 16: Sagesse - Moutahed 95-96

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Pepsi LBL took place in Beirut. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Sagesse (5-10) to third ranked Al Moutahed (9-6) 96-95 on Wednesday evening. Sagesse was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-18 charge of Al Moutahed, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists and center Todd O'Brien (211-89, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Moutahed maintains third position with 9-6 record having just two points less than leader Al Riyadi. Sagesse at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Al Moutahed will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Al Riyadi.
