Important game to mention about took place in Mazatlan. Third ranked Frayles de Guasave (3-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (3-2) 91-88 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It looked good early as Lobos UAD Mazatlan took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Frayles de Guasave had a 25-17 second period charge getting the lead and Lobos UAD Mazatlan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-91. Frayles de Guasave made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jeremie Hart (188, college: McMurry) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) answered with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Ross Rivera (201, college: Pacific) added 19 points in the effort for Lobos UAD Mazatlan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to second place. Lobos UAD Mazatlan at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Frayles de Guasave will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will play against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
