We should mention about the upset which took place in Nogales, where 4th placed Tijuana Zonkeys (2-3) lost to tenth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (2-2) in a road game 87-104. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. Fuerza Guinda Nogales made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) nailed 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Jumaine Jones (202-79, college: Georgia) accounted for 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Fuerza Guinda Nogales moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Guaymas. Defending champion Tijuana Zonkeys dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' next round opponent will be Pioneros Los Mochis (#5) on the road. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Vaqueros in Agua Prieta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
