Very predictable result when third ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (14-5) rolled over at home 8th ranked Hainaut (8-11) 81-50. The game without a history. Villeneuve D'Ascq led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Hainaut outrebounded Villeneuve D'Ascq 96-51 including a 57-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. 82 personal fouls committed by Hainaut helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Geraldine Robert (183-80, agency: Comsport) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Frederic Dusart felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Porsha Roberts (188-93, college: SF Austin) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Melissa Micaletto (165-90) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Villeneuve D'Ascq maintains third position with 14-5 record having five points less than leader Lattes Montp., which they share with Charleville-Mez. Hainaut at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Villeneuve D'Ascq's next round opponent will be Basket Landes (#6) in Mont de Marsan.
