Regular Season Round 24: Start Lublin - Rosa Radom 73-76

Seventeenth-ranked MKS Start (4-22) gave a tough game to second ranked Rosa (20-5) in Lublin. The visitors from Radom managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But MKS Start won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rosa made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They also forced 22 MKS Start turnovers. The winners were led by Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds and international swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) supported him with 12 points. Even 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) did not help to save the game for MKS Start. Serbian power forward Nikola Jeftic (205-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Rosa maintains second position with 20-5 record behind leader Stelmet ZG, which they share with Anwil. MKS Start lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Rosa will play against Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round. MKS Start will play on the road against the league's leader Stelmet (#1) in Zielona Gora and hopes to get back on the winning track.
