Regular Season Round 50: Olimpo BB - Parque Sur 88-65

Date: March 18, 2016
The game in Bahia Blanca supposed to be also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Parque Sur (17-18) played at the court of fifth ranked Olimpo (16-18). Olimpo smashed Parque Sur 88-65. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpo. Parque Sur was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olimpo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Parque Sur's 24 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Guard Matias Chaves (198-89) notched 23 points to lead the effort and American-Venezuelan Clarence Matthews (201-83, college: Tennessee St.) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Olimpo's coach Franco Maceratesi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points and 7 rebounds by guard Felipe Pais (185-90) did not help to save the game for Parque Sur. Center Matias Novello (198-85) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Newly promoted Olimpo maintains fifth position with 16-18 record, which they share with Ciclista. Parque Sur at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
