There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Jugla (9-5) was edged by fifteenth ranked RTU (8-6) in Riga 75-73 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. RTU forced 26 Jugla turnovers. Forward Janis Zeltins (196-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nauris Bikovs (183-93) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Power forward Andris Petersons (192-97) replied with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Kristians Viksne (191-97) added 21 points in the effort for Jugla. Jugla's coach Ziedonis Jansons tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. RTU maintains fifteenth position with 8-6 record. Loser Jugla dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost.
