Regular Season Round 47: Hiroshima L. - Osaka Evessa 81-99

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Osaka Evessa (29-14) defeated on the road 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-38) 99-81 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Hiroshima L. was better in third quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 26. They outrebounded Hiroshima L. 48-24 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Osaka Evessa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tetsuya Maemura responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Ayumu Osawa (-91) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Osaka Evessa and four Hiroshima L. players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa maintains fifth place with 29-14 record. Hiroshima L. lost their twenty fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 38 games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Hiroshima L. will play again at home against Osaka Evessa (#5) and hope to win that game.
