Tenth-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (10-13) made lots of trouble for third ranked ALM Evreux (15-8). The visitors from Evreux managed to secure only two-point victory 103-101. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 27-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. ALM Evreux made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman Drake Reed (194-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American swingman Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and American-British point guard Akeem Williams (178-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) added 13 points and 12 assists respectively for Charleville-Mezieres in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ALM Evreux moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourg. Charleville-Mezieres at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. ALM Evreux's next round opponent will be Chorale de Roanne (#17) at home which should be an easy win for them. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Le Portel (#6) and hope to win that game.
