Regular Season Round 6: Guasave - Navolato 97-95

The most exciting game of round 6 in the CIBACOPA took place in Guasave. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (1-4) to second ranked Frayles de Guasave (4-1) 97-95 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Frayles de Guasave outrebounded Garra Canera de Navolato 31-14 including a 21-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard DK Eldridge (188, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Frayles de Guasave's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Ashton Pitts (201-88, college: So.Poly State) replied with 23 points and guard Austin Cooley (196-90, college: District of Col.) added 20 points in the effort for Garra Canera de Navolato. Four Frayles de Guasave and five Garra Canera de Navolato players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave maintains second position with 4-1 record behind leader Hermosillo. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with Agua Prieta. Frayles de Guasave are again looking forward to face bottom-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Garra Canera de Navolato will have a break next round.
