There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Buki/BJSS (9-5) won against 12th ranked BS Ogre (9-5) in Riga 86-81 on Friday. BS Ogre was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Buki/BJSS had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. BS Ogre was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Matiss Caune (187-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Janis Sults (182-87) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Buki/BJSS players scored in double figures. Niks Jansons (200-98) replied with 20 points and forward Madars Kokins (196-97) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BS Ogre. Buki/BJSS moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Jugla and BS Ogre.
