Regular Season Round 47: Fukuoka Rizing - Hamamatsu P. 78-101
Date: March 18, 2016
Very expected game when 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-28) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (29-13) 101-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Fukuoka Rizing was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) helped adding 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamamatsu Phoenix maintains fourth place with 29-13 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 28 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
