An interesting game took place in Agua Prieta where higher ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (3-4) were upset on the court of tenth ranked Vaqueros (2-4) 103-91. They made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 31 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tijuana Zonkeys. Four Vaqueros and five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Vaqueros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nogales. Defending champion Tijuana Zonkeys keep the sixth position with four games lost. Vaqueros' next round opponent will be Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (#10) on the road.
