A very close game took place in Culiacan between Ostioneros de Guaymas and Caballeros de Culiacan. Third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (4-2) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (1-3). Ostioneros de Guaymas managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) fired 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 16 points. Five Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. American forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Ostioneros de Guaymas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 4-2 record behind leader Guasave, which they share with Los Mochis. Loser Caballeros de Culiacan dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Obregon. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet at home league's leader Frayles de Guasave in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#5) and hope to win that game.
