Regular Season Round 7: Hermosillo - Mazatlan 81-83

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Rayos de Hermosillo (5-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (4-3) 83-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for power forward Kourtney Roberson (206-90, college: Texas A&M) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) helped adding 21 points. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's coach Eric Weissling used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Lobos UAD Mazatlan maintains fifth place with 4-3 record. Rayos de Hermosillo at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Guasave. Lobos UAD Mazatlan are looking forward to face Caballeros de Culiacan (#9) on the road in the next round. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
