Regular Season Round 23: Mollet - AEC Collblanc 58-66

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Mollet (7-7) was defeated at home by second ranked AEC Collblanc (8-4) 66-58 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mollet won third quarter 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when AEC Collblanc won last quarter 18-11. It was a great evening for forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Javi Rodriguez (202-92) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four AEC Collblanc players scored in double figures. Power forward Ramon Espuna (206-84) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Antoni Gomez (190-94) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AEC Collblanc have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group C Titulo with 8-4 record having just 2 victories less than leader Badajoz. Newly promoted Mollet keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
