Regular Season Round 23: Segle XXI - Sant Adria 48-70

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Sant Adria (17-6) outplayed 11th ranked Segle XXI (6-17) in Barcelona 70-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sant Adria. Segle XXI was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Center Olga Ruano (191-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Paula Ginzo (187-98) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Irene Medel (168-99) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Segle XXI. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sant Adria maintains second place in Group B with 17-6 record having four points less than leader Alcobendas, which they share with Rivas Promete. Loser Segle XXI keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Sant Adria will face Plenilunio (#6) in Madrid in the next round. Segle XXI will play on the road against IF Air Europa (#7) in S'Arenal and hope to win that game.
