Regular Season Round 23: Azuqueca - Villarrobledo 86-67

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Azuqueca (13-7) outscored at home 13th ranked Villarrobledo (5-14) 86-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Azuqueca. Villarrobledo was better in third quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Villarrobledo to just 4 points in first quarter. Azuqueca looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Villarrobledo was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Faronte Drakeford (201, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Leroy Isler (196-91, college: UALR) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. Four Azuqueca players scored in double figures. Center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marquiz Baker (188-89, college: Alcorn St.) scored 16 points. Villarrobledo's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Azuqueca have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place in Group B with 13-7 record. Villarrobledo lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Azuqueca will face Gran Canaria (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Villarrobledo will play against Alcazar and hope to win that game.
