Regular Season Round 47: Saitama Bron. - Fukushima 62-89

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (4-37) were outplayed at home by fifth ranked Fukushima (25-16) 89-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fukushima. Saitama Broncos was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukushima had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Saitama Broncos' players. It was a great evening for American swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) helped adding 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) scored 22 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fukushima maintains fifth place with 25-16 record. Saitama Broncos lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 37 games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again at home against Fukushima (#5) and hope to win that game.
