Regular Season Round 23: Pordenone - San Salvatore 55-64

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked San Salvatore (9-14) beat on the road higher ranked Pordenone (11-12) 64-55 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pordenone won third quarter 17-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pordenone was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Israeli Elena Castello (182-98) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Rachele Porcu (165-97) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Pordenone's coach Andrea Da Prato tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. San Salvatore maintains tenth place in A2 with 9-14 record. Newly promoted Pordenone dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. San Salvatore will face higher ranked Costa Masnaga (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
