The game in Bologna was also quite interesting. 4th placed Palermo (14-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Bologna (14-9). Bologna defeated Palermo 56-45 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bologna. Palermo was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bologna won last quarter 16-6. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Palermo to just 6 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Elisabetta Tassinari (175-94) helped adding 15 points. Lithuanian Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Elena Riccardi (187-82) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Bologna moved-up to fourth place in A2. Bologna will face Ancona (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palermo will play against Civitanova (#10) and hope to win that game.
