There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Fiorentina (9-17) lost to fourteenth ranked Sangiorgese (7-19) in Firenze 75-92 on Saturday. Sangiorgese shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Point guard Andrea Tassinari (182-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. Forward Daniele Mario Benzoni (196-80) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Sangiorgese's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Tommaso Bianchi (190-93) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Matteo Caroli (-95) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fiorentina. Four Fiorentina players scored in double figures. Sangiorgese maintains fourteenth position in B with 7-19 record. Newly promoted Fiorentina dropped to the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Sangiorgese will face league's second-placed Orzinuovi GaGa at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
