The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Andratx's (3-20) road loss to thirteenth ranked Barcelona (5-18) 71-79 on Saturday. Andratx trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 32-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 71-79 at the end of the game. Forward Ana Alonso (187-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Vanesa Verbo (174-94) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Barcelona's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Esther Morillo (169-79) answered with 22 points and center Mireia Coves (192-95) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Andratx. Five Barcelona and four Andratx players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Barcelona maintains thirteenth place in Group B with 5-18 record. Andratx lost their fourteenth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Barcelona will face higher ranked UCAM Jairis (#5) in Alcantarilla in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Andratx will play at home against ASEFA Estudiantes (#8) and hope to win that game.
