Very predictable result when seventh ranked Real Madrid II (12-8) defeated at home 14th ranked Casvi (5-15) 72-66 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-9. But Casvi won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Real Madrid II won last quarter 22-18. It was a great shooting night for Real Madrid II especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Casvi was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Daniel De La Rua (181-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 assists. Guard Ignacio Ballespin (191-98) helped adding 17 points. Guard Sergio Jimenez (188-95) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Casvi players scored in double figures. Casvi's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Real Madrid II moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Casvi lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Real Madrid II will face Torrelodones (#10) in the next round. Casvi will play against Alcobendas (#9) and hope to win that game.
