There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Moncalieri (5-20) won against on the road higher ranked Desio (11-15) 75-64 on Saturday. The former international power forward Francesco Conti (205-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Leone Gioria (194-84) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Moncalieri players scored in double figures. Moncalieri's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Filippo Politi (205-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Alessandro Corno (193-92) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Desio. Moncalieri moved-up to fifteenth place in B. Desio lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Moncalieri will face higher ranked Milano Urania (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
