Regular Season Round 27: Berck - Quimper 87-71

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Quimper UJAP (14-13) and Berck (10-17), which took place in Berck. Higher ranked Quimper UJAP lost to seventeenth ranked Berck in a road game 71-87 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimper UJAP. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-71. Berck outrebounded Quimper UJAP 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Berck looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Jamaican forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Berck players scored in double figures. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) added 14 points in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Quimper UJAP's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Berck maintains seventeenth place with 10-17 record. Quimper UJAP at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Berck will face higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
