Regular Season Round 20: SIG - CFBB 56-54

Twelfth-ranked CFBB (1-19) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked SIG (10-10) in llkirch-Graff. on Saturday. SIG managed to secure only two-point victory 56-54. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CFBB won fourth quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely CFBB outrebounded SIG 44-21 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Celine Schmitt-Sender (185-80) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian guard Ljiljana Tomasevic (174-88) who added 15 points during the contest. Center Alexia Chartereau (189-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and center Ana Tadic (190-98) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. CFBB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SIG moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Limoges and Reims. CFBB lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. SIG will meet Montbrison (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. CFBB will play against the league's second-placed Roche and hope to win that game.
