Rather expected game in Civitanova Marche where 12th ranked Salerno (5-18) was crushed by ninth ranked Civitanova (10-13) 87-46 on Sunday. The game without a history. Civitanova led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Salerno's 32. Civitanova forced 29 Salerno turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Veronica Perini (175-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points. Guard Linda Manzini (176-90) helped adding 15 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Civitanova players scored in double figures. Point guard Luisa Rauti (169-98) responded with 11 points and center Francesca Fabbricini (189-99) scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Civitanova went down to tenth position (A2) due to points difference. Loser Salerno keeps the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Civitanova will face higher ranked Palermo (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salerno will play against the league's second-placed Ferrara (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
